This three-part course will teach you how to clone your own clothes
Service Description
(3 Workshops) Week 1 - Sun 15th Feb / Week 2 - Sat 21st & Sun 22nd Feb Have a garment you love and wish you could make again? This three-part course will teach you how to clone your own clothes, turning a favourite item into a reusable sewing pattern and a finished replica. This course is aimed at intermediate sewists who are confident using a sewing machine and have some experience making garments. The item you choose should be a simple style, such as a top, dress, or pair of trousers, nothing with complex details like collars, heavy tailoring, or intricate fastenings. Across the three sessions, you’ll: Draft a basic pattern from your existing garment Create a toile to test the fit and make adjustments Sew a finished version of your cloned piece Along the way, you’ll learn the fundamentals of pattern drafting and fitting, and how to translate an existing garment into something you can remake in the future. By the end of the course, you’ll leave with a finished garment, your own drafted pattern, and the confidence to clone more pieces independently. This course is perfect for people with existing sewing skills. If you’re unsure whether your garment or skill level is right, we’re happy to advise before booking.
