In this creative and hands-on workshop, you'll discover the satisfying art of hand-building with clay. Our expert instructors will guide you through the process of making your very own decorative house lantern, perfect for a cozy night in or a unique gift.

What you'll learn:

  • Slab Building Techniques: Master the fundamentals of working with clay slabs. You'll learn how to roll, cut, and score flat sheets of clay to construct the walls, floor, and roof of your lantern.

  • Using Moulds: We'll show you how to use simple moulds to create perfectly formed roof and base pieces, ensuring a stable and professional-looking finished product.

  • Adding Detail: Get creative with carving! You'll cut out windows and doors to let the light shine through, and add decorative elements to give your house its own unique personality.

  • Finishing Touches: After you've built your masterpiece, you'll choose from our range of beautiful glazes to add color and a protective finish. Our team will handle the firing and glazing process for you, ready for collection at a later date.

This class is designed for beginners, so no prior pottery experience is necessary. Come and get your hands dirty in our vibrant and supportive studio environment.

***Please note: We will no longer offer collection pick ups of your pottery.

 Classes booked in July will be sent by  Royal Mail with a small delivery cost which can be purchased in our studio straight after your class. This is to reduce waste and save on storage

Our beautiful, brand new studio is in the heart of Manchester City centre. For those of you travelling from out of town, we are just a two minute walk from Picadilly train station.

Specialist aprons are provided however please wear clothing and footwear that you don't mind getting a bit of clay on. That way you can really go for it!
