Master the Human Form: Sculpture & Figurative Clay at Makers Quarter

Step into the studio and bring the human figure to life in clay. Whether you are an absolute beginner drawn to the tactile nature of sculpture or an experienced maker looking to refine your spatial technique, our Sculpture: Body Form workshop offers an immersive exploration of figurative art.

Guided by our friendly tutors, you will learn to translate the gestures, weight, and proportions of the human torso into a striking three-dimensional piece. Working directly with raw clay, this hands-on course breaks down complex anatomy into approachable geometric forms, allowing you to build confidence while developing your distinct artistic voice.

What You’ll Learn & Experience:

  • Anatomical Foundations: Master proportion, mass, and line using live reference models and structured guidance.

  • Sculpting Techniques: Practice hollow-building, hand-building, armature support, and surface texturing.

  • Studio Tools & Materials: Work with high-quality stoneware clay and professional modeling tools.

  • Firing & Finishing: Learn the process of preparing raw clay for the kiln to ensure your finished sculpture withstands firing.

Course Details:

  • Skill Level: Open to all levels (no prior sculpting experience required).

  • Included: All clay, tools, firing services, and studio protective gear.

Unplug for a few hours, get your hands dirty, and take home a finished sculpture crafted entirely by you.
